If you already have field and field boundary information in a SHP file format, you can use this as quick way of setting up your fields and boundaries in BlackBox Core (please note, you cannot match fields in the SHP file to existing fields, they all come in as new fields) To use this feature:
- Either right-click on the desired farm name in the tree menu and select 'Import Field', or click the 'Data Exchange' tab and click on the Import SHP files card.
- Click the 'Browse' button and browse to the location of the desired shp file. Select, the file, click Open and the boundaries contained in the file should appear on the map.
- Select 'Multi Field Boundary' (double check you have the correct farm selected in the tree menu).
- Select the column of data that represents the field name.
- Choose whether to import the boundaries as field or working boundaries (we recommend working boundaries as many of the BlackBox Core mapping features are reliant on having a working boundary).
- Click 'Import' and wait for all the fields, their areas and chosen boundary type in the SHP file to be added to your selected farm.
